FAQs

What is the pass rate for Fit4Training courses?
We believe that our delivery, support and learning materials are second-to-none. Our pass rates would vary naturally from week to week, but on average our first time pass rates are as listed below:

Level 2 Theory Exams - 80%+
Level 3 Theory Exams - 75%+
Practical Assessments - 97%+

If you are one of the few who don't pass first time, don't worry! We offer unlimited support throughout your course, so you can access our help as much as you need it. We have found that the more you use us, the more likely you are to pass your assessments first time.

How much support do I really get on an online/home study course?
You will receive regular emails from us guiding you through your qualification. You also have the opportunity to book in for a face-to-face or telephone tutorial with an assessor to answer any questions you may have and discuss you progress towards achieving your objectives set out in your assessment plan. We strongly urge all students to keep in regular contact with their tutor in order to make the most of the support offered. Please note, that if you course includes elearning provided by YMCA Awards, this expires after 215 days, so we recommend you let us know if you would like to delay your registration on the elearning if you know you can't start on it straight away.

How long does it take to complete my online course?
How long you take to complete your course via online learning completely depends upon how much time you have free to put into it.  None of the courses are 'easy' and most will take around the guided learning hours listed to complete unless you already have a great knowledge of the area.  As examples of course duration, the quickest we feel you could complete a Level 2 qualification would be 2 weeks, with the average being more like 3 months.  At level 3 the duration would be more like 4 weeks to 6 months.  We would always recommend that you do not rush through a course just to get your certificate.  Fitness roles carry responsibility that you must fully appreciate - take your time on our courses and learn properly! You have up to 12 months to complete your qualification (unless otherwise specified).

When can I start my course?
Many of our courses do not have a 'start date', meaning you can start studying straight away. For courses which do have a specific start date, this is the date that we will release your course materials for you to commence the home study element of your course.

Is distance learning the right type of course for me?
Only you know how good you are at time management and why your preferred style of learning is. If you are able to manage your own time well and commit yourself to a given number of hours each week for studying, learning and assessment activities then it is likely you will reap the many benefits of learning from home.
  • A flexible workload that fits around your current commitments
  • Individually paced learning
Distance learning isn't for everyone and if you struggle to stay focussed and are easily distracted then this might not be the best route for you. A face-to-face taught course or blended-learning course may suit you better. You have up to two years to complete any of our qualifications, however, access to the online elearning platform is only valid for 215 days.

How can I pay for my course?
We accept payment via bank transfer, cheque (payable to Fit4Training) or Paypal. Please let us know how you would prefer to pay and we will let you know all the necessary details. We can spread your payments over 3 months, but this is subject to a £50 administration fee added to your total booking (not £50 per course). If you are attending workshops and are enrolling less than 3 months before you workshops, please note that the full balance is due 4 weeks prior to the first day.

I have booked on a course which includes practical workshops days. Do I have to attend all the days?
Yes, you do. As our workshops are intensive, you will miss too much if 100% attendance is not achieved.

Can I get a discount if I have already passed some of the units of a qualification?
Unfortunately, we are unable to discount any of our qualifications if you have already passed any of the common units and assessments. Irrespective of whether the common unit or assessment was already held by you, the same certification charge is applied. If you have already passed the theory component of a course, you will however be abele to expedite your course completion and obtain your certificate much sooner than other learners who will need to wait for their results before they can become qualified.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Once an enrolment form has been completed and payment received, unfortunately, Fit4Training do not offer refunds. We will only offer refunds, if you are attending practical workshops which Fit4Training have cancelled and there is no suitable alternative. The cost of e-learning or any resources sent to you are not refundable.

Why are Fit4Training courses cheaper than other training providers?
We pride ourselves on affordable yet quality courses. The structure of our courses are designed so that they are both value for money and offer a way of learning that suits busy lifestyles. Compared to bigger organisations, we make savings in our business by not having a permanent training centre to pay for. We use other top quality venues as and when we need them rather than paying all year round. Along with the blended-learning nature of many of our courses, we have access to a quality elearning platform, which enables us to not have to pay as many tutors to deliver the theory elements of our courses.  Fit4Training are a small team who share the load. We don't employ specific administrators, which again keeps our costs down.

How do I complete a theory exam?
Once you feel ready to take your exam(s), complete our assessment booking form, which you can find in the footer of this page. You can either complete your exams within the scheduled practical workshops days (if applicable), attend our venue in Telford or Uckfield to sit your exam when an assessor is available.

How do I complete my practical assessment?
If you have got to complete a practical assessment for your course, once you feel ready to take it, contact us! You will need to submit and pass your Programme Card/Class Plan PRIOR to you completing your practical assessment. You (and your client/s) can either attend one of our venues in Telford to complete your assessment when an assessor is available by completing our 'book an assessment' form, or you can ask someone to film you and send your assessment into to us on DVD. * Fit4Training will NOT be responsible for insufficient postage, so please make sure you have your mail correctly weighed.

What happens if I fail a theory exam?
You are welcome to re-sit any exam as soon as you feel ready. The cost for theory exam re-sits is £20 per exam. Please see 'How do I complete a theory exam' above. You can re-take your exams as many times as you need to, but we don't expect you would need to re-sit exams more than once.

What happens if I fail my practical assessment?
You can re-take a practical assessment at a cost of £40. However, if you choose to submit your re-assessment on DVD, you can re-submit this up to 2 further times, free of charge, after which each further submission will cost £20.

Can I appeal an assessment decision?
Yes you can.  Our Appeals Policy is available to you at any point during your studies with us.

Where can I find all the Fit4Training policies?
You can find all our policies and procedures on our About Us page.

How long does it take to receive my certificate?
We aim to get certificates to learners within 3 months of all units of work being completed.  This is usually much shorter and often within a matter of weeks. All candidates' portfolio's must be assessed and internally verified by Fit4Training and in some cases sent to Active IQ/YMCA Awards for external verification.
